The SA Node of the Millennium Project held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 24 March 2010 at the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation (IERI). The audited financial statements of the Node were submitted for scrutiny and discussion and were approved without changes by the Directors and Members. The meeting confirmed that the Node is in a healthy financial position and is sufficiently capacitated to implement its exciting projects for 2010. Read more

The Foresight for Development ( ) initiative is being piloted in Africa by the SA Node with support from The Rockefeller Foundation to promote “foresight for development” by creating a collaborative online platform that will facilitate the coordination, enhancement and promotion of future thinking and practice in Africa.

Is Africa the Land of the Future? Special Issue Call for Papers
Foresight, a premier international peer-reviewed futures studies journal, has launched a Call for Papers for a Special Issue on the theme “Is Africa the land of the future?”. The Special Issue – to be guest edited and reviewed by African scholars and futurists – invites papers that look at the potential conditions and the roles of Africa and Africans in the future world. In addition to the exploration of possible futures, the theme of the Special Issue also calls for considerations for robust policies and creative strategies that could ensure sustained transformation within the African continent.
